I'm a 39 year old native Californian. I own a home in Aliso Viejo with my wife Heather. Our seven year old daughter is in first grade at Oak Grove Elementary School.

I teach at Cerritos College, and have been a professor there for eleven years, including serving as chair of my department.

I have worked successfully to bring money into our community college district and worked with the local high schools to offer additional career opportunities to students. 

At Cerritos College, we have gone through significant budget cuts, and worked together to share the pain so that we all do more with less. We have done a good job incorporating technology into our learning plans so we can manage our facilities more effectively.

My experience allows me to bring four major skills to a new team at CUSD:

• Understanding how to integrate the CUSD curriculum with both higher education and career classes

• The critical importance of keeping great athletic, music, and art programs in all of our schools

• Effective budgeting

• Management of professionals
