The election on November 2nd will choose a new city councilman for Rancho Santa Margarita. We are facing tough times, and tough times call for tough leaders. I serve as a military officer in the Army National Guard. If given the opportunity to serve as your councilman, I will always be a fighter for the taxpayers, demanding a fiscally responsible balanced budget, on time, every year. The safety and economic stability of our community are my top priorities. I have a proud record of service in Rancho Santa Margarita. I am a small business owner, and a founding board member of our city's chamber of commerce, the R.S.M. Business Alliance, working hard to improve the economy of our community. I will fight to bring businesses back to RSM by thinning city bureaucracy, streamlining our conditional use permit process, and eliminating unnecessary permits wherever possible. Through business friendly policies we can place our community on the road to economic recovery. Additionally, I will protect our small town atmosphere, and promise to always oppose any attempt towards annexation of Coto de Caza, Las Flores, Wagon Wheel & Stonecliffe. Those communities have recently been added to Rancho's sphere of influence, a first step towards annexation, which could forever change the flavor of our community from a small village into a mega-city, and cost our city more to sustain than we would see in return. I am honored to have the endorsement of U.S. Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, former RSM Council Member Christy Riley, Saddleback Valley Unified School District President Don Sedgwick, and hundreds of Rancho Santa Margarita residents. My wife and I chose Rancho Santa Margarita years ago for our family, and I am committed to making our city and neighborhoods even better. I respectfully ask for your vote on November 2nd. Jesse Petrilla, Businessman/Military Reservist, Candidate for RSM City Council. |
