- Championed the 12-year effort to build a Senior & Community Center which opened in 2009.
- Co-chair of the Local Business Assistance Program - to help local businesses remain viable during these economic times and to secure new businesses to fill empty storefronts.
- Led disaster relief and restoration efforts following the 2005 Bluebird Canyon landslide (securing over $30 million from FEMA and the State of California) to aid the City. The restoration project is completed and homeowners are re-building.
- A bluebelt proponent, is leading efforts with the County of Orange and the cities in the Aliso Creek Watershed to restore Aliso Creek and to create a filtration system at "the end of line" to ensure that pollution does not reach our shores.
- While on Council, supported purchasing -- or accepting -- over 300 hundred of acres of open space.
- Advocated to secure over $3 million from the State of California for the Heisler Park improvement project.
- Championed summer trolley service to serve Three Arch Bay.
- Led advocacy efforts to secure beautification funds for South Laguna and other areas from OCTA and other agencies.
- Pushed for 12 years for a Village Entrance project that consisted of a parking garage and park across from the Festival of Arts. Added 109 spaces in the lot next to City Hall by moving the Maintenance Yard to behind the Act V lot.
- Supported -- and continue to support -- the free trolley program to reduce traffic congestion in the summer.
- Continue to advocate for a parking garage in the downtown and peripheral parking in both North and South Laguna to manage traffic and congestion.
- Voted consistently to maintain the "village character".
- Supporter of the arts, artists, galleries and the hotel Business Improvement District which supports our major arts institutions, smaller arts non-profit organizations and Arts Commission projects.
