This information is provided by the candidate |
I have helped identify needed funds and grants to support our schools, students and families. This has resulted in millions of dollars to support after-school, child-care, recreational, tutoring, academic, health and nutrition programs. Encouraged school partnerships with community organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, boy scouts, soccer leagues, little league, United Way, local cities and Chambers of Commerce. As a school board member, I have managed taxpayer funds in an efficient and appropriate manner. Our schools are financially solvent. Reduced student absenteeism to increase academic achievement resulting in additional funding for our school sites. I have made a difference in reducing school over-crowding, improving test scores and teaching students to learn English: Increased math and reading test scores. Wisely invested your tax dollars in providing state-of-the-art school facilities. Provided parental training programs to empower our parents to help their children succeed academically. Advocated and supported special education programs and services. Increased the number of students attending pre-school, summer school, and after-school programs. Increased English instructional hours. Supported music and art programs. Maintained a safe school environment for our students, families and employees. Expanded pre-school programs. My children attended and graduated from Centralia schools. Please contact me: artmontez@sbcglobal.net. |
