Cathy Green has been twice elected to the Huntington Beach City Council, and is currently serving her second term as Mayor. Her public service commitment has always been to ensure low taxes, the highest degree of public safety and improved infrastructure. Those commitments will continue as your Orange County Water District representative.

Experience matters: Cathy has served on many regional water related Boards, including Orange County Sanitation District, Orange County Harbors, Beaches and Parks Commission, West Orange County Water Board, Groundwater Replenishment Committee, Santa Ana River Flood Protection Agency, and Huntington Beach Citywide Water Quality Subcommittee. On the Orange County Transportation Agency she served on seven committees, including the Environmental Oversite Committee.

Cathy was given the Spurgeon Award this September and serves on the Board of the Boy Scouts of America Council. In 2005 Cathy was named Woman of the Year for 2005 by State Senator John Campbell (now US Congressman) and has received awards from the United Way Excellence in Child Care Planning 2006 and the Greater Huntington Beach Interfaith Council The Peace Maker Award 2007. She has also been recognized as Huntington Beach's Citizen of the Year by the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce, the Huntington Beach Soroptimist's Woman of Distinction, the Bolsa Chica Conservancy's Conservator of the Year and the Golden West College's Pillar of Achievement Award..

Cathy is a Registered Nurse with a degree in Law. She has the knowledge, experience and dedication to solve your critical water needs. Cathy and her husband Peter have been 40 year residents of Huntington Beach, where they have raised their children.
