Staff and Director Compensation OnlineRepresentative government and transparency is more important than ever today. Mesa stands as the best example of local governance. Mesa is a single service Independent Special District Water Supply Retailer. As an Independent Special District Mesa receives no property tax or any other form of government subsidy. This means that the cost of water delivered to its customers accurately reflects the cost of operating the district. This makes it easier to compare water rates among water agencies. When compared to the 16 surrounding water agencies Mesa's rates are among the lowest in the county. In addition, Mesa is the only agency in Orange County to post employee and Director compensation online. In addition, for 17 consecutive years Mesa has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual financial report. The certificate of achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. It clearly recognizes Mesa's excellence in meeting these high standards and is an accomplishment of by Mesa and its Board of Directors. |
