Candidate for
Board Member; La Habra City School District

I am a lifetime advocate for public education. As a teacher for 35 years, I worked in several districts including Los Angeles Unified and Anaheim Union High School District. I also taught 4 years in Tehran, Iran at the Tehran American High School. All of my teaching experiences have given me insight as to the needs of students, parents, and teachers. In addition, my past 6 years serving on the LHCSD board have given me a different perspective as to those needs and the challenges we must address in order to meet them.

My mother was a public school teacher, and both of my grown children are public school teachers. My son, Morgan, and daughter Shannan went through the Fullerton School Districts. Both are actively involved in their teachers' organizations and I am very proud to have contributed to their desire for fairness and willingness to take actions needed to better the public education system. I am especially proud that my daughter was recently named one of two Sacramento County Teachers of the Year for 2010-11,

My husband Larry and I were married 10 years ago and moved from Fullerton to La Habra at that time. We are in love with La Habra and plan to spend the rest of our lives here. I hope to contribute as much as possible to making the community of La Habra the best it can be.
