California law requires all cities to have a City Clerk who attends all meetings of the City Council, maintains the Council's ordinances and resolutions, issues
licenses and permits, and performs a variety of other duties. Under the existing Tustin City Code, the City Clerk is elected by the voters every four years. If
the proposed initiative is approved, the Tustin City Code would be amended to authorize the City Council to appoint and remove the City Clerk.
