Candidate for
Board Member; Panama-Buena Vista Union School District

I am running for election as a Panama Buena Vista Union School Board Trustee because I believe in the value and importance of education. I am a product of great K-8 schooling, which led to successful progression through high school, onto college and into success the business world. My personal experience demonstrates how a great public education opens doors to greater opportunities and is one key to a better life.

As a parent with four children in the district, I have a vested personal interest in PBVUSD. As parents and as a community we are deeply concerned about the state of our education system. It is my belief that all children can achieve and do well if we each make a personal commitment to ensure this.

I do not believe in empty promises but as a PBVUSD Trustee, I commit:

To take my role as Trustee seriously. To think Critically and Creatively. Exhibit Courage on tough issues and not Conform to status quo.

To parents, teachers, and administrators; I will help foster an environment where working together cohesively we will ensure each child is provided the best opportunity to reach his or her full potential.

To encourage an environment of continual improvement. The world is rapidly changing so as a district and a community we must keep pace with those changes. I have a vision of PBVUSD leading the way as an example of how continuous improvement leads towards a brighter future in education and the development of our most valuable assets - our children.

Challenges exists which will demand we make some tough decisions. There are sections in the school system that are broken and can't be fixed with a magic wand. While on the board, I will fight for integrity, efficiency and accountability with your tax dollars and work tirelessly to ensure that no wasteful spending occurs. While serving you as a PBVUSD Trustee I will ensure that these principles are followed.
