Rudy Salas was born and raised in Bakersfield, he attended our local schools and grew up in our local neighborhoods. Rudy has seen firsthand the needs in our community.

Upon graduating from UCLA, he worked at the WHITE HOUSE on financial matters before following his heart and desire to come back home and work for the community he grew up in. As a counselor with the outreach programs at Cal State Bakersfield he worked directly with hundreds of students and parents making the dream of college a reality. More recently, he has spent the last five years working on improving the lives of local residents on a variety of issues including fighting against the spreading of sewage sludge in Kern County and holding PG&E accountable for its SmartMeter program.

Additionally, he has been instrumental in bringing in millions of dollars to improve the transportation, air quality and educational needs in our area. We need safe neighborhoods, better services and someone who will work tirelessly to get the job done.
