I have served the people of Shafter as a Council Member for the past 12 years. During this period our City has grown in financial security and area; this and the following have been accomplished by a City Staff and City Council who have a vision for the future, compatible, and willing to make personal compromise that will improve our City and make life better for the majority of our citizens. I sincerely ask for your VOTE to remain a part of this Council

Modernizing the infrastructure, with added capacity for waste water plant; we are currently installing a sewer system in the North Park and North Shafter area which will allow those residents to remove their septic tanks. Additional water tanks, filters, and wells to assure you of the highest quality water and efficent distribution system. New roads; 7th Standard Road being our latest improvement working with the County of Kern and the City of Bakersfield we have secured funds and begun construction making this a 4 lane divided hwy with a new over pass at SP railroad and Hwy 99, and also a overpass at Santa Fe Way, and the BNSF Rail road with plans to make this 4 lanes all the way to I-5 to our west.. Other road projects include rebuilding of Lerdo Highway from Highway 99 to Driver Road.

Capital Improvements include a new state of the art Animal Control and Adoption Center, Remodeled the Police Building, which includes a community room complete with the latest technology which may be used by the public for meetings. Installed a fiber optic system which connects all of the City Facilities, This is also available to Shafter High School and all the Richland School campuses and in the future will be available to each home. Built the first phase of the new Veterans Park, located on South Schnaidt Street and Los Angles Ave. The second phase is scheduled to be started this year complete with a spray park, shade and play equipment area for children.

In the past twelve years we have created over 2500 jobs. Some of these jobs were by the addition of the following companies locating in our community: Target Distribution (2M sq. ft.), Formica, Elk Corporation, GMC Roofing, GAF Building Materials, Performance Foods D.C, Global Manufacturing, Grimmway Farms, Cemex Corp, The Scott's Company. Insect Lore Products, Paramount Farming, Williams-Sonoma, Inc, Norris Production Solutions,. Pro Built, MI Swaco, and JD Rush,
