Humboldt County, CA | November 2, 2010 Election |
By Johanna RodoniCandidate for Assessor; Humboldt County | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
My decision to run for Assessor is based on my pursuit to make government efficient and responsive to the needs of our community. It's time for change in the Assessor's office. The issues in the Assessors' campaign are based around leadership, vision and customer service. Good government requires innovative leaders committed to finding solutions to the back log of problems built up over years. In the June Primary, over 60% of the voters recognized that the office of County Assessor is in need of improvement.I bring a fresh perspective with qualified, fair and independent leadership necessary to run the department - a real choice for change.
My strong background in real property, administration, and public service in both the private sector and as a public official makes me uniquely qualified to address concerns from taxpayers' perspective. I know how to work through the regulatory tangle and will make the Assessors' department customer friendly. As your Assessor, I promise to be accountable and accessible to all citizens and taxpayers. I will address issues directly and openly and actively seek responsible solutions. I know I can make a difference in the way property owners are treated while ensuring that assessable property is properly valued. I will foster prompt, professional and courteous customer service. I will lead by example and be fair and unambiguous in all dealings with my employees. I will be present and available full-time not only to my staff, but also to the people I serve. I care deeply about Humboldt County's future. My children and grandchildren live here. I will use my talents to bring a problem solving approach towards building a stable economy. I would appreciate your vote on November 2. |
