Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Dennis Wanken

Candidate for
Council Member; Town of Moraga

This information is provided by the candidate

My political philosophy is very simple. A democracy is only as strong as the citizens who involve themselves in the many issues that confront a community. As a former elected official, I always made it a practice to encourage and welcome inclusion in all public policy matters. But,inclusion is only one half of my philosophy. The other half is transparency of government operations and deliberations.

It is only by inclusion and transparency with all Moraga citizens that a level of trust can be maintained and nurtured. It seems that everywhere we see and hear people mistrust their elected officials. Congress has historically low approval ratings. I, if elected, will do all that I can to instill trust in our local government.

My extensive record of public service to the Moraga community was a result of this simple, yet effective, philosophy. Elected representatives serve the people. It is a sacred trust that all of us must preserve a role model for future generations if this thing called democracy is to survive. As your elected public servant, I will uphold this principle.
