This information is provided by the candidate
I am, by profession, a teacher, as are both my parents. I know the importance of an education, especially in these adverse economic times with high unemployment rates and few job opportunities. With unprecedented state budget cuts resulting in higher fees and fewer classes available for students at our state colleges and universities, our community colleges must work harder to more effectively meet the needs of our students and community. With more budget cuts yet to come, tough decisions are going to have to continue to be made. However, these decisions need to be made with the input of students, faculty, and community, and they need to be made as far away from the classroom and students as possible. I have the background and ability to make those well-grounded decisions. That is why I am a candidate for the Contra Costa Community College Board.
