Political Philosophy for Mae Cendaņa Torlakson

|
As my children and I have been the beneficiaries of the advantages and opportunities this country has to offer, I feel strongly that I have a responsibility to "give back" by contributing my skills to the community in which I live. During the last four years, I have been privileged to serve as an Ambrose Recreation and Park District Board member. I am proud of what I have achieved on behalf of the children and families of this district. During this period, I have focused on involving and communicating regularly with our Ambrose District citizens and families. Working with my fellow board directors and supporters, we have obtained millions in funds from the county, the state, East Bay Regional Park District and the City of Pittsburg to expand services to the people of the district.
I am proud and happy to have been able to bring about these positive changes for the district I represent. It has been a pleasure to encourage and guide the creation of effective partnerships with many civic groups, public agencies, and businesses in our community. Of course, there is always more to be done. I would be honored to receive your support for the ongoing work of building and improving our community parks and recreational facilities. |
