This is the Campaign Statement that appears with the CCC Voter Guide, with some minor editing.

I've lived and suffered through our major health care problems: inadequate care for the aged and our children, cancer, heart-disease, health-insurance, diabetes, and lack of programs for persons with disabilities.

➢ In 2000, I started managing care for my Grandmother at Cypress Meadows in Antioch. In 2002, she started hospice, preceded by severe dementia.

➢ In 2006, my Stepfather suffered a coma from cardio-vascular disease; he recovered only to die in my arms, of colon cancer in 2008.

➢ Healthcare costs for my family of 5 have been a nightmare. Access to quality care for our families in these tough economic times has to be addressed.

➢ I'm watching diabetes kill my best friend. His family all died of the disease.

For six years I've coached Challenger Little League disabled children, including my autistic son Nicky, having fun playing baseball.

This year I launched Challenger Division for Pittsburg & Bay Point.

I'm currently a Pittsburg Planning Commissioner and Director of OakHills Community Group for over a decade.

When elected I will work for Los Medanos Community Healthcare District to:

• Emphasize helping its residents improve their own health and the health of their loved ones
• Have available current healthcare information they can use
• Get relief from higher and higher medical insurance costs
• Benefit from LMCHD advocating for better healthcare overall within the District.
