Businesses to Support Alternative Energy Programs

Wind, Solar and Alternative Cleantech energy generation is an expanding national industry. The demand for wind power technology is growing and Brentwood is surrounded by an abundance of wind power sources, yet there are few local businesses that exist to support the local wind generation industry.

Brentwood City Council candidate Jim Cushing has an innovative idea: I will meet with the heads of LLNL, UC Berkeley and the Joint BioEnergy Institute in order to attract new alternative energy support businesses to Brentwood + with the goal of making our city the Bay Area's center for alternative energy start-up companies.

  • By year 2030, 20% of all energy sources are projected to come from alternative energy sources, like wind, solar and biomass.

  • The Federal Government is investing Billions of dollars in creating and developing these new sources of energy and cleantech advancements.

  • Brentwood could become the Bay Area capitol for providing repair, maintenance and assembly for local wind power equipment + bringing hundreds of local jobs to Brentwood.

  • Brentwood could partner with Los Medanos Community College to institute state-of-the-art training programs to train workers in assembly and blade repair for wind energy and installation of solar panels and arrays.
