CrimeBy Nat BatesCandidate for Mayor; City of Richmond | |

We will not truly be able to have a flourishing economy until we feel safe in our own neighborhoods. We need to put more police officers on the streets, revitalize citizens crime watch programs and strengthen our community policing.
We need to crack down on gangs and make our schools safe again for learning and teaching.
We should work with property owners so they screen applicants for criminal backgrounds and also close or condemn habitually illegal or nuisance properties.
Richmond gets too many parolees' released back into our community. We must limit parolees to the numbers that we can properly monitor to ensure we keep our neighborhoods and family safe.
We should also always remember that the best crime prevention program is a job in a thriving economy. |
