Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Judith Peters

Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Paradise Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate

I have held offices on site councils and parent clubs at Ponderosa Elementary, Paradise Intermediate, and Paradise High School. I have spent four years on the District Parent Advisory Council, and have been regularly attending school board meetings since 2005. My three children attend Ponderosa Elementary and PHS, and through their stories and my involvement at their schools I have seen firsthand the effects of the budget cuts. As a school board member, I will work hard to keep and restore libraries, art, music, sports, and industrial arts programs that keep our students interested in school and prepare them for the future. I support and advocate community involvement in our schools, and will listen to the concerns and problems of the community to make the schools a better place for our children. I am not afraid to ask questions and make tough decisions, and I will do my research and stay informed so I can make the right decisions. I have seen the problems that this school district is facing and understand the challenges ahead. As a school board candidate, I am prepared to meet these challenges with steadfast determination and to always be "a voice for the children."
