In my 33 years in transit, I have learned how critically important it is to communicate, and to know when to do so. I often say that "it starts with a conversation," which I believe to be important and true. We cannot solve the issues that confront transit without having those conversations. I care about transit, and how it affects the people of the East Bay.

I have a history of being inclusive, which is a quality that I would bring to the AC Transit Board. I think it is absolutely critical that the public be involved in discussions about bus transit. People must feel safe when they are waiting for a bus, or walking to a bus stop. They need to know that buses are reliable---that they will arrive when the schedule says that they are due. Input from the public is critical to the discussion of safe, reliable and effective transit.

I believe that the AC Transit Board would benefit from the inclusion of a person with practical transit experience, one who understands the service that the agency provides from a number of different perspectives.

It would be my honor to serve as the AC Transit Director for Ward 3.
