Fiscal SustainabilityBy Frank MatarreseCandidate for Mayor; City of Alameda | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
We must stay within budget, control the cost of city-paid benefits and increase our commercial tax baseMy plan for keeping the City solvent includes four main policy points: Maintaining public safety and other essential city services within budget and holding to that budget Reaching agreements to control the escalating cost of city-paid benefits to address the City's biggest unfunded financial burden Keeping our streets, sidewalks, parks, and public buildings in good repair to control accumulating deferred maintenance costs Redoubling our efforts to bring high quality businesses to Alameda because we rely too heavily on residential property taxes |
