My vision for the Peralta Community College District:

I advocate for a District that includes the Community in our Community Colleges in every way possible. WE must have a system of education that exudes excellence and provides a solid life foundation to a diverse student pool, many of whom may be the first in their families to attend college, and for whom the community colleges may be their only access to post secondary education. I will work for constructive and comfortable teamwork between instructors and administrators who function in an environment of uncompromising mutual respect. I am committed to a robust business partnership with our community that rewards local voters who consistently approve Peralta's funding measures by returning much of the wealth through contracting and sales opportunities. I will strive for a community college district that is the envy of the nation.

My priorities include:

  • Focusing first and foremost on the office of PCC Trustee
  • Making student welfare the foundation for decision making
  • Demanding instructional excellence
  • Improving student support services
  • Formalizing a commitment to employ local businesses
  • Ensuring workforce fairness
  • Requiring fiscal accountability
  • Valuing diversity
  • Bringing dignity and integrity back to the Peralta Colleges
