Candidate for
District Attorney; County of Ventura

In 2002 and again in 2006, I was elected as your District Attorney. I consider it a great privilege to serve as Ventura County's Chief Prosecutor and have devoted my life to punishing the guilty and protecting the innocent.

As District Attorney, I have fought to keep Ventura County one of the nation's safest communities by making law and order decisions, implementing bold programs and demanding the highest standards of integrity. Under my leadership, the Office of District Attorney:

MAINTAINED a 92% conviction rate OBTAINED injunctions against violent street gangs dramatically reducing gang crime IMPLEMENTED A Firearms Prosecution Program that keeps guns out the hands of criminals CREATED a new Family Violence Prevention Center to protect victims of Domestic Violence OPENED Safe Harbor Centers in the East and West County enhancing the compassionate treatment of women and child victims VIGILENTLY responded to newer crime trends involving elder abuse, public official misconduct, real estate fraud, computers and child pornography
