PROTECTING OUR BORDERS

By Jeff Stone

Candidate for State Senator; District 36; Republican Party

This information is provided by the candidate
I will propose legislation for California identical to Arizona's new Immigration Law
I support a strong national defense; I believe that our best defense starts with a rigorously secured international border. I oppose illegal immigration and with it the huge financial and public health burden it puts on taxpayers.

I will sponsor legislation mandating that law enforcement agencies arrest any alien illegally in the state for violating trespassing laws and make it unlawful and punishable by severe fine to hire anyone illegally in the state.

In 1994 I supported Proposition 187, (the Save our State Initiative). I believe that litigation must continue to move forward and that the State Attorney General is derelict in his duty by not defending Prop 187 to the U. S. Supreme Court, upholding the will of the voters of California.

With the devastating affects it has on our schools, hospitals, and prisons, Illegal immigration is costing Californians over $10.5 billion per year or nearly $1,500 per person in the state. I contend that if Proposition 187 was in force today, California would not suffer a $20 billion annual deficit but would rather enjoy a sizable budget reserve.

I support placing our State National Guard on the border in a backup roll to the Border Patrol to help stop the flow of illegal aliens, but also be prepared to militarize if required to defend our nation.

I am endorsed by Maricopa County Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Like Sheriff Arpaio, I believe that criminals should be treated in such a way that they will not want to be re-incarcerated. I believe that California should adopt laws allowing tent prisons to house convicts. I support charging the nations of illegal alien prisoners for the cost of housing them in our prisons.

I oppose "Sanctuary" status for any government entity and will fight to withhold all taxpayer funds to them until their outrageous policies are ended.

I believe that employers of illegal aliens must be heavily penalized even to the point of being forced out of business for hiring illegal aliens. I support E-Verify to aid in determining if a job applicant may legally work in the U. S.

I do not support amnesty for illegal aliens in any form.

I oppose extending U.S. citizenship to babies born of illegal aliens or to aliens traveling legally within the United States.

The immigration practice of "chain migration" + the sponsoring of extended family beyond husband, wife and children has quadrupled U. S. immigration in the last several decades and must be limited.

I support structured legal immigration only, with limited annual quotas.
