Real Change

Professional politicians say they are going to Washington to end gridlock ...

Why didn't they do that before???

Human beings become stagnant in the same state of affairs over time (thirty five years is a long time). Change and renewal are essential for long term survival. Business leaders are selected to be accountable for delivering results; when results are bad, the leaders are usually fired**. Progressive companies rotate their managers every three to five years to spark revitalization.

What does Erik Smitt have to offer?

  • Not a professional politician

  • Not a lawyer

  • Not obligated to any special interest!

  • Engineer, Manufacturer, Business person

  • Real world experience ... rooted in manufacturing industries: aerospace, automotive, petrochemicals, food processing

  • Created jobs in the private sector (not government) ... added value to the economy

  • Maintained a budget; managed a profitable business

  • Worked under a myriad of government regulations ...

experienced regulations from the user side ...

the cost, the waste, the innovation-stifling ...

  • Negotiated with corporations, unions, government agencies with good results

reached agreement among disparate groups of people

  • Introduced new ideas for successful outcomes

I have a very different life experience than most professional politicians. The skill sets developed in the real world have supported me through adversity and challenges. I will deliver practical and constructive solutions for the people of this district.

When we look at Washington and the results, whose fault is it? ... is no one accountable? We have a failure of leadership in Washington ... we need new leaders ... change and renewal are essential to our country's survival.

I ask you to support Erik Smitt for the 5th Congressional District

  • *excepting the recent Wall Street and General Motors bail outs that were crafted by the politicians

Fiscal Conservative

· My family has always lived within its means and saved for the future.

· Government spending is growing without end

Health Care, Everyone's Concern

· Access ... Competitive Plans ... Cost Containment
