This may be Adam Sartain's first time running for a public office, but it isn't his first campaign.

Adam began his interest in politics in High School, where he ran for Student Government and participated for all four of his years at Foothill High School in Sacramento. Highlights of his Student Government career include putting together and running a daily video taping and playing of the Morning Announcements, as well as being elected Class President during his sophomore year and Student Body Treasurer his junior year. But Student Government wasn't the only activity Adam participated in during his High School years; he also sat on the school's Site Council, which was made up of teachers, parents, administrators and students, from his sophomore through his senior years. Adam was unanimously elected Chair of the Site Council during his senior year, the year that an accreditation team came to evaluate the school. Adam was instrumental in organizing the visit and helped ensure its success.

Adam's first job was as a precinct officer during the 2000 Presidential Primary, and though he held other jobs, he continued to work on several other elections since, even becoming a precinct inspector (the officer in charge of a precinct) for the last two that he participated in. Adam also knows the sting of defeat as well. As a freshman at UC Davis, Adam made a failed bid at ASUCD council and as a member of the Cal Aggie Marching Band-uh!, one of the few student run bands in the nation, he made several attempts to run for Student Director. But in the midst of every failure, his resolve never faltered. He picked himself up, dusted himself off and continued.

Adam Sartain has sat as Chairman of the Citrus Heights Community Marching Band advisory council, a council he used his leadership ability and knowledge about committees to create, from its inception over two years ago until recently. This year, he was selected to sit on the governing board for the Davis Musical Theater Company. Adam Sartain is currently employed by a State Agency and has been inspecting and auditing low-income housing throughout the State of California for over two years now.

Before working for the State, Adam has held many different jobs, including driving buses in Davis, painting dormitories, delivering newspapers, creating and serving Togo's Sandwiches, and working for the Sacramento Metropolitan Orchestra during the season that it both started and went bankrupt (through no fault of his own). Adam Sartain holds a Bachelors Degree in Music from UC Davis.
