Contingent Letter of ResignationBy Serafin QuintanarCandidate for United States Representative; District 20; Republican Party | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
First of all, I am against raising taxes. Of course, you have heard everybody say this. Nearly all republicans claim to be against taxes and even Obama claims to be a tax-cutter. I understand that you are probably jaded and skeptical of anybody running for office who claims to be against tax increases. Well, I'd like to prove to you that I am completely against taxes. I have signed a contingent letter of resignation that states the following:To the Constituents of California's 20th Congressional district, I, Serafin Quintanar, do solemnly swear to resign my office in the United States House of Representatives if I ever cast my vote in favor of any tax increase; including income tax, capital gains tax, corporate tax, or estate tax, upon the American people. This resignation will become effective immediately upon such a vote being cast while I serve as a Congressman in the United States House of Representatives. Signed, Serafin Quintanar Download Your Own Copy of this Resignation Letter This letter has also been signed by Cliff Unruh of the Fresno County GOP, Steve Wayte of the Central Valley Tea Party, and by the Pastor of my church, David White. These men have signed this document to keep me accountable. I want you to keep me accountable as well. |
