Jack Lindblad, challenger for the 39th Assembly seat, is on the 2010 ballot

39th Assembly Candidate Jack Lindblad successfully culminated a Green party registration drive by earning his ballot access with enough signatures in lieu of a filing fee. Lindblad looks forward to a robust campaign effort.

This marks the Lindblad campaign's second consecutive, and back-to-back run for the 39th Assembly seat[], to many, [a seat that] represents the Democrat political machine and extremely well-funded by lobbyist money. The 2010 campaign will be a rematch between backers of corporate concerns and supporters of human values centered on ecological wisdom, in midst of increasing public awareness of multiple collapses and the Sixth Great Extinction, caused by anthropogenic activity.

Says Lindblad: "I took the imperative to replace the corporate-based governance with sustainable policies to the community and registered over 108 new Green registrants covering the Los Angeles area, of which 76 are new 39th Assembly District registrants, raising the District's Green registered base 12.6% or from 0.46 to 0.51 of 1%."

Only this time there's a new twist: no Republican is running.

Parties opposing the Democrat appeared to have agreed upon, tacitly, on one candidate, Lindblad, to run against the soon-to-be termed out office-holder. Sizable inroads in coalitional politics promise to be realized in racking up more the sum of the voter totals of the smaller parties, building on the 8.06% earned by Lindblad in 2008, representing 1600% of the Green Party registered base, ranking at the top of other contests where Greens ran. Reaching across partisan lines augers well for the potential of electability to the State Assembly and bridge-building once in office.

"Taking no corporate donations nor the beholdence that is part of the bargain, being a effective squeaky wheel in advocacies for health-care patient rights against Big Insurance, for local water reliance, award-winning in the successful Panorama City commercial area revitalization, experienced in meeting project design and building budgets and payroll as a small business and in tipping the balance against the Mayor of Los Angeles thwarted solar power grab - have all prepared me to be my District's effective grassroots community advocate in the State Legislature," explains Lindblad.

Issues that Lindblad is emphasizing that will form the legislative agenda are locally-based and relevant to the 39th District constituents:

Decentralize and Relocalize water resources, energy, material goods and food production: Lower impact development with restoration of the Pacoima-Tujunga watershed - greenways and rewilding with more parks - with hiking, biking, and horse trails along the Los Angeles River washes. Stimulus plan inclusion of contaminated well water clean-up. Ecological wisdom.

Emergence of a steady-state green jobs economy, replacing the failed growth economy: Transit-friendly, mixed-use, pedestrian-oriented, smart, in fill community development based on net zero energy to meet the mission of AB 32 that mandates a 25% reduction in global greenhouses gases by 2020. Environmental Justice.

Grass-roots democracy: Formation of a District-wide Assembly council.

Save our neighborhoods: Stop neighborhood gentrification, protect neighborhood integrity.

Stop payola politics: Ban of all corporate lobbying and campaign spending with full implementation of public financing. People over profits.

Rights - not raids: Reverse long term trend of spending on prisons over education. Educate - not Incarcerate. Budgetary responsibility. Social Justice. Non-violence.

"In the coming days and weeks, I'll be asking folks to focus efforts on mustering campaign expenses to get the word out and together, we will wage a very robust drive to gain the 39th seat for the people in the District," concludes Lindblad.
