I am a business owner, a fiscal conservative, and a constitutionalist. I believe in the rights granted by the Constitution as the supreme law of the land. While we need new laws to govern human rights as society progresses, I understand that each new law and regulation that passes is another chance for government to take away those rights. As a business owner, I have experienced these government limits take a direct toll on my business and employees, especially as the economy fell and the government in California began looking to the federal government for a bailout.
What my beliefs mean to me is that if government collects $300 billion, it should only spend $300 billion. It means that the Constitution does not need to be re-written for today's times, but that it needs to be upheld so that the rights of people aren't pushed out of existence by a government that grows larger and larger. Government needs to be reduced in size. A smaller government is easier to maintain financially by the American taxpayer, and a smaller government has less power to infringe upon the rights of its people.
