Tracy Emblem is an attorney in private practice with an emphasis in appellate law in San Diego County for 20 years. She has researched and written over 300 writs and appeals and argued before the California Supreme Court. She began her legal career as a law clerk for the California Attorney General's Office, Writs and Appeals Division. Tracy has served as a judge pro-tem with the San Diego courts. In 2004, together with the California Innocence Project, she won the release of Kenneth Marsh. This high-profile case brought Tracy national acclaim for her dedication to seeking justice. Her work was profiled on CNN's Larry King Live. She was awarded the Distinguished Advocacy Award from the San Diego Defenders Board of Directors and an Outstanding Advocate Award from the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego. The California Innocence Project has honored Tracy with a "Champion of Justice" award. For 5-years Tracy Emblem served on the Board of Directors for the League of Women Voters of Escondido. While on the Board, her position was Public Relations Director which included organizing mock election programs in public schools to teach children the election process. Tracy also served on the statewide League of Women Voters committee to update the initiative process study and she moderated ballot initiative election pros and cons forums. Tracy also served as the President of the Board of Directors for the Escondido Community Child Development Center, a non-profit organization that provides early education and child care for low income families. |
