The federal government is spending too much, recklessly too much. The size of the deficit has tripled in one year. The national debt now totals $40,000 for every man, woman, and child in our country. I have a proven record of curbing federal spending. We need to replace big spenders with frugal ones; I was rated the single most frugal member of the 102nd and 106th Congress. My entire career has focused on economic issues and fiscal responsibility. That has now become the issue of our time. To prevent runaway inflation, which will erode our retirements, and huge debts owed to China and other foreign countries, which our children would have to pay off, we have to stop the system of spending more than we have. - Tom Campbell
