Kelenia Olsen is a democrat that identifies with both moderate and progressive ideals. Having worked closely with a diverse array of communities, she understands the needs of many in Assembly District 12. Kelenia believes that the underrepresented require advocacy now more than ever. On the Democratic County Central Committee, Kelenia will strive to see that the San Francisco Democratic Party incorporates these issues in its platform, and endorses candidates that are dedicated to working on these issues.

Workplace Equality

Equal pay in the workplace is still a prevalent issue that affects many. Despite the ascension of many females in corporate America, the vast majority of women are denied equal pay for equal work. This form of workplace discrimination creates a glass ceiling, inhibiting one's ability to climb the socioeconomic ladder. It is imperative that the San Francisco Democratic Party supports policy and leaders that will work to abolish wage discrimination.

Senior and Veteran Assistance

Seniors and Veterans make up a large portion of San Francisco's population. When these individuals are left without benefits and services, they are left homeless, without food, and lacking healthcare. This impacts all San Franciscans. San Francisco officials need to ensure that measures are taken to guarantee that all seniors and veterans are afforded the services they need.

Quality Education that is Affordable and Accessible to All

With the cost of higher education rapidly rising, it is important now more than ever that the Democratic Party does everything possible to keep community colleges and universities accessible to all. Our K-12 school system has also been hit hard by the recession. We must provide the children and young adults in the City with the tools necessary to become productive and engaged citizens. Education is indispensable in making this a reality. It is up to San Francisco's elected officials to ensure that there are no further cuts to education.
