Kim-Shree Maufas is a Candidate for the San Francisco Democratic County and Central Committee, in Assembly District 13th, on the June 8, 2010 Ballot. She has lived in the Bayview and Mission District for the past 13years. She has a proven and successful "Advocacy Track Record" for Youth Development, Underserved Communities of Color, LGBTQ Issues, and Gender-equity. She continues to mentor People of Color into SF Politics and deeper Education Policy Issues throughout the city. Kim-Shree Maufas was elected at-large in San Francisco to the Board of Education for the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) in 2006 to a four-year term. In 2008, the Board elected Kim-Shree as its Vice-President and in 2009, as its President. Today, she continues as a Commissioner. Kim-Shree Maufas, recently, was the Program Director at the UCSF National Center of Excellence in Women's Health (CoE), where she developed opportunities for girls/young women and Community/Non-Governmental Partnerships throughout San Francisco. Kim-Shree came to UCSF from the SF Department on the Status of Women as a Senior CEDAW Policy Analyst. "CEDAW" is the United Nation's Convention to Eliminate all Forms of Discrimination Against Women. She focused on critical life issues impacting girls/young women and health disparities for all women of color. Kim-Shree holds a B.A. in Human Communication from USF and an M.B.A., with an emphasis in Marketing, from the UoP. Ms. Maufas is Board of Director's member for the Marin Institute - a National Alcohol Industry Watchdog and Huckleberry Programs for Youth Wellness Academy Advisory Board. Ms. Maufas is also certified USA Track and Field coach, and volunteers with the Northern California Chapter of the International Special Olympics Association. |
