Howard Wayne grew up in San Diego. He graduated from Hoover High School, San Diego State, and the University of San Diego School of Law. He has lived in City Council District 6 since 1971 and Clairemont since 1974.
As a Deputy Attorney General for 23 years Howard prosecuted the most serious crimes in the highest courts of the state. In 1996 he was elected to the State Legislature to represent San Diego County. He authored the first law in the country for statewide bacterial testing of beach water to protect the public health and obtained funding for citywide curbside recycling for San Diego.
In 2002 he came back to the Attorney General's Office to enforce California's consumer protection laws against those who would defraud individuals and small businesses.
Howard is a member of the Clairemont Town Council, the Linda Vista Town Council, the Serra Mesa Community Association and the Mission Valley Community Association.
He and his wife, Mary Lundberg, are Clairemont homeowners. |
