Cynthia Mathews has lived in Santa Cruz with her family since 1970, when her husband Bill joined the Astronomy/Astrophysics faculty at UCSC. Her two grown children attended and graduated from local public schools. Four generations of her extended family now live in Santa Cruz, where they are involved in activities related to health, environment, the arts, youth sports and family wellness.
