Political Philosophy for David Cueva
Candidate for |
I am not a politician, just a citizen who wants to do whats right for the people of District 9 and the city of San Jose. For 20 years I have worked in the field of accounting and finance and I wish to use this skill set to address the financial issues that the city is experiencing at this time. I do not have any political agendas except to serve the people of the city to the best of my ability. I want to create necessary budget reform so that we can divert more funds to neighborhood services and education. Presently over 52% of our general fund dollars are being spent on public safety most of which is going to pay for the city's pension fund. We need to do away with self serving agendas and do whats best for the city. For 9 straight years the city has suffered through deficits but very few plans were implemented to cut costs except to ask the employees of the city to take salary and benefit cuts. We need to have everyone pitch in and take responsibility, our leaders have not been proactive in this area. So I intend to be the one to light the fire and bring passion and energy to the council for the betterment of the city. |
