Greetings!

My name is Paul Schrader, and I am running for the position of Sheriff-Coroner of San Bernardino County. My campaign is based on what we call the Fresh Start Initiative. My goal is to bring a Fresh Start to San Bernardino County that the citizens can be proud of, participate in, and see concrete, forward looking solutions to the problems we face.

Jail Transparency- A jail system that is open to review, and a dedication to making the jails safer for both inmates and Deputies.

Financial Accountability- A well run Sheriff's Department that is fiscally responsible, using it's budget wisely for maximum effectiveness.

Community Responsibility- A Sheriff's Department that accepts it's responsibility to the community, and works with the community to improve conditions for all.

The Homeless Situation- A Sheriff's Department that does more than just move the homeless around. My goal is to train the Deputies of the Department to assist the homeless in locating needed resources and community services.

Ethnic and Religious Diversity- I will form a panel of community leaders to suggest ways in which the Department can better understand and respond to San Bernardino County's rich ethnic and religious diversity.
