San Bernardino County Superior Court Judge Robert Lemkau is the only judicial candidate in the race who:

  • has experience as both a judge and as a criminal prosecutor
  • lives in San Bernardino County, and
  • has never been arrested.

As a career criminal prosecutor with the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office, Judge Lemkau protected our communities and victims' rights for 34 years. Thirteen of those years were devoted to prosecuting child molesters, child murderers, and other suspects charged with committing Crimes Against Children. After being evaluated by 100 other judges, attorneys, and California State Bar representatives, Lemkau was appointed Governor Schwarzenegger recognized Robert Lemkau's distinguished record San Bernardino County Superior Court Judge nearly three years ago.

As Judge, Robert Lemkau has continued to serve the people and communities as an efficient and hard-working judge.

Judge Lemkau is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Texas School of Law. Judge Robert Lemkau also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army Reserves, achieving the rank of Major.

Judge Lemkau knows our community's concerns. Judge Lemkau and his wife raised their family and have been involved in community activities in the West Valley for more than 30 years. He also served as both vice-chairman and chairman of the City of Chino Planning Commission.

Judge Lemkau is supported and endorsed by hundreds of people in the legal profession and in the community, including scores of current and retired judges, many Supervising Prosecutors in the District Attorney's Office -- including Chief Deputy District Attorney John Kochis, Supervising Deputy District Attorney Rick Young, Supervising Deputy District Attorney Michael McDowell, and Assistant District Attorney Betty Haight (ret.) -- as well as his peers and neighbors who serve as prosecutors, private attorneys, educators, community members, and law-enforcement professionals.
