Candidate for
Auditor; County of Riverside

I believe strongly in doing the Right Thing the Right way. Of course we need integrity in the Auditor's office. That should be a given but in addition we, as taxpayers, need to know that our money is being spent wisely for those services we, the public, need most.

I know the County. I worked in three major departments over my 20+ year career. In each department I worked to find cost saving, effective ways to improve operations and return funding and time to other services. At the Auditor's office I developed a year end package that has saved hundred of hours of overtime and produced a clear reporting trail. At the Hospital I worked with a technology firm to establish an in-house payment process for medical services returning more than $800,000 to patient services the first year and creating four new jobs. At Waste Management I improved the cash forecasting and budgeting so that reporting could be done faster and users could understand the information. These are real improvements that save time, stress, and put money back to work where it's needed -- providing you, the taxpayer, the services you want.

I know these are tough financial times but it is only by working together and striving for good communication and effectiveness and efficiency that we can be better for the harder times. We need an Auditor in the Auditor's office. We need to work together to bring Accountability and Leadership back to the office.

Help me bring that Clarity, Leadership, Effectiveness, Accountability, and Responsibility back to County government and the Auditor's office by creating and implementing working policies and procedures that make government operations more effective as well as efficient. Help me bring about the improved processes I know are waiting to be discovered. Help me save your taxes from duplicated effort, bad contracts, and old procedures.
