Impartial Analysis from County Counsel
If Measure "A" passes, the City of Eastvale will be incorporated and five members of the City Council will be elected at-large. The law governing the incorporation of a new city requires that the voters be given the choice, for future elections, to decide whether members of the City Council are elected by-district, from-district or at-large.

By-district elections of members of the City Council would mean only the people who live in a particular district may run for a seat on the City Council to represent that district. Only the voters of that district may vote for a City Council representative for that district. The individual elected is the City Council representative for that district.

From-district elections of members of the City Council would mean only the people who live in a particular district may run for a seat on the City Council to represent that district. Voters of the entire city may vote for all City Council members running for election. The individual elected is the City Council representative for that district.

At-large elections of members of the City Council would mean that anyone who lives in the City may run for a seat on the City Council without regard to district boundaries. Voters of the entire City may vote for all City Council members running for election. The individuals elected are the City Council representatives for the entire City.

Arguments For Measure B
Vote `At Large' on Measure "B" to keep Eastvale focused on spending our precious tax dollars on sheriff and fire protection. In the last year, cities that vote by district, like Oakland, cut vital protections because of infighting, mismanagement, and waste.

That is why taxpayer groups ask you to Vote `At Large' on Measure "B".

Vote `At Large' on Measure "B" because as a small city, every family in Eastvale deserves the chance to vote on all five City Council members + From District only allows you to vote for one.

Don't silence your own voice, don't split neighborhoods apart, vote `at large'.

Hundreds of California cities do not use or have rejected ideas like By/From District because they know that cities like Los Angeles, which follow policies like that, spend too much time fighting and spending our taxes on pet projects. Stop wasteful spending of our tax dollars by voting `At Large' on Measure "B".

By voting `At Large' on Measure "B", you keep your power, stop government waste, and protect sheriff and fire protection.

Make your voice heard to all five Council members. Vote `At Large' on Measure "B" on June 8th.
