Who is watching over our health care? How do we effectively help the mentally ill? Who will care for our homeless veterans? With all the changes to our health care system, Kern County needs to be at the lead of the curve. As Supervisor I will charge the Kern County Children and Families Commission to study and understand the new Health Care system; this will be our opportunity to take advantage of a direction new system. I will work with our state and federal officials to make sure that Kern County receives the most money and makes the proper adjustments. We as a community members of this County should promote the necessity of proper health care for all. If we need to establish more community based health centers then let's move in that direction. Under the new Health Care there are provisions for starting rural and education medical centers. Also, it is imperative for Kern County to have the proper facilities in place to care for the most vulnerable, the mentally ill, and see they receive the best possible treatment. It is time that we begin to demand more from our local healthcare officials so that the people of this County get the treatment they need. Many of our veterans and most intelligent are left without proper health care. We have far too many without a place to rest and receive the right treatment. It is the responsibility of all to ensure their safety. Many of them have served for us let's return the good deed. Fighting for better Healthcare, fighting for you. |
