Since 1987, Humboldt County Supervisor Bonnie Neely has been working for the people of Humboldt to create opportunity, protect natural resources and maintain our quality of life.

The Eureka Times-Standard says Bonnie has an "encyclopedic knowledge of county operations and local issues, people and perspectives. She seems suited by temperament to seeking solutions through compromise..."

As Supervisor, Bonnie has built an outstanding reputation as a community leader. Of all her accomplishments, she is most proud of being co-founder of the Redwood Coast Music Festivals, which today are among the most respected and successful small festivals in the nation. The annual events bring in approximately $3.25 million into the local economy, and have contributed some $350,000 to local senior programs and youth activities. In recognition of her tireless work in the community, Bonnie has earned numerous awards, including the Achievement Award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in recognition of her work on behalf of the elderly, and the Leadership Recognition Award from the California Assembly of Local Art Agencies.

For almost two decades, Bonnie has had the honor of fighting for environmental protection of the North Coast as a member of both the California Coastal Commission and California Board of Forestry. She is currently serving in her second term as chair of the California Coastal Commission.

Bonnie's life has been firmly rooted in Eureka. In the late 70's, began her career as a paralegal and earned a real estate license. Prior to her election to the Board of Supervisors, she was an administrative assistant to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors.

Bonnie is a native of Humboldt County and graduated from Eureka High School. After studying abroad in London, she returned to Eureka and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies from Humboldt State University.

Bonnie resides in Eureka.
