Jeff has served on the Eureka City Council for the past 7 years. His wife, Michelle, teaches 3rd grade at Ambrosini Elementary in Fortuna, and they have two children: daughter Zoë, 6, attending Redwood Montessori in Eureka, while son Lukas, soon to be 2, learns to walk and talk.
Jeff graduated from Eureka High School in 1983, then from Willamette University in 1988, after a year as a Rotary exchange student in Switzerland.
After working in Hawaii, and teaching Civics and U.S. History at San Jose High, Jeff moved back to his hometown in 2000, where he was quickly elected to the City Council in 2002, then again in 2006. He also works full-time as a claims adjuster for State Fund, and is remodeling his 1906 Craftsman home at 1628 `D' St. in Eureka.
In addition to his duties on the City Council, Jeff contributes his time to non-profit groups such as the annual Plunge for the Discovery Museum, Sequoia Park Zoo fundraisers, Rotary Backpacks for Kids, and hosting international exchange students. An accomplished photographer, Jeff and his family business "Imagine That! Photography " take youth recreational sports photos on the weekends.
