THE HARLAND LAW FIRM, LLP EUREKA, CALIFORNIA Partner - October 2004-present Civil Litigation: representing clients in diverse State and Federal civil matters including but not limited to land use, CEQA, employment law (both employer and employee), civil rights matters (plaintiff or defendant), eminent domain and inverse condemnation, fraud, contracts, corporate, construction, business law, government law and anti-slapp motions. Advise clients regarding course of action for litigation, draft complaints, answers, cross complaints, conduct discovery and all pretrial and trial matters, legal research.

Appellate: handle complex administrative records, research, draft and file briefs, responses and replies.

HUMBOLDT COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE EUREKA, CALIFORNIA Deputy District Attorney April 1994-June 2004 Senior Trial Attorney and Lead prosecutor of Child Abuse Services Team: vertically reviewed and charged complex cases involving prolonged periods of child abuse, multiple victims, statute of limitations issues and repeat violent offenders. Extensive use and understanding of special allegations, conducted preliminary hearings, complex pretrial and trial motions, jury trials and sentencing. Specialized vertical caseload involved all sexual assault cases involving child, adult, the disabled and elderly along with cases involving child physical abuse and neglect, sexually violent predators, child pornography, computer crimes involving juvenile victims and sex offender registration violations.
