Candidate for
Treasurer-Tax Collector; County of Contra Costa

I have a Masters Degree in Public Administration and am a member of the Government Finance Officers Association and the California Association of County Treasurers and Tax Collectors. My career consists of 15 years working in such areas as taxpayer services, cash management, banking relations, investments and public finance.

The past seven years I have served as Chief Deputy Treasurer-Tax Collector. During this time I have brought about many significant improvements to where the office now serves you more efficiently and responsibly. As a result, I have been able to reduce the county's share of costs in the office's operating budget, freeing up revenue for other county programs.

For three years I have been a member of a statewide legislative committee that has been proactive in overseeing and updating state laws to protect taxpayers' rights. I take great pride in working for the people of Contra Costa County and will always represent their interests and honor the trust that has been placed in me.

As your elected official, I pledge to carry on the legacy of honesty, integrity, fairness and hard work. I will continue to search for and implement better practices and newer technologies to enhance services and cost savings. I will ensure the safekeeping of funds entrusted in me, and will continue the conservative practice of choosing appropriate and safe investments that have given the County's investment pool the highest credit quality rating by Standard & Poor's.
