Candidate for
Treasurer-Tax Collector; County of Contra Costa

Contra Costa County has been my home for fifteen years and I have grown increasingly concerned about the financial path that county government is taking. I have stepped up to the plate in this election to give the people a choice.

As a former Chief Deputy County Treasurer and Assistant City Finance Director in Washington State, I am committed to bringing integrity and increased financial accountability to the Contra Costa County Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office.

My priorities:

1. Advocate for honest pension oversight and keep you, the taxpayers, informed. Rampant pension abuse has to be addressed or it will bankrupt the Retirement System and result in cutbacks everywhere else. This gives us less money for current county employees, fewer services and disintegrating roads and bridges.

2. Revamp the Treasury Division so all opportunities for higher investment returns are utilized, rather than placing large percentages of monies in ultra liquid accounts at the State with all time low yields.

3. Be accountable to the agencies I represent and the citizens of Contra Costa County.

4. Make the Contra Costa County Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office the model that all others will follow.
