I show up. A lot. And I get involved.

City Council meetings - I've attended consistently for over three years. I show up the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month to watch our City Council discuss items of interest to our City. This has given me insight into the issues, processes and personnel in our city government.

El Segundo Film Permit Process Subcommittee - I attended every public meeting advertised in the El Segundo Herald over a three year period.

El Segundo Unified School District Facilities Advisory Committee - I was selected to be the committee 'Resident' representative. The Committee made a unanimous recommendation to put a bond on the 2008 ballot. Measure M was passed and the El Segundo High School auditorium, football field and track will be upgraded for safety.

LAWA/LAX meetings - I've attended for more than 8 years. I attend to get information and share the negative impact that LAX has on El Segundo's noise and air quality.

I don't show up for photo ops. I show up because I believe government works best when citizens get involved.
