Sound business practices, saving taxpayer dollars, and keeping taxes low are the basics of Financial Responsibility.
Upper Merion Township is a large business, whether we want to accept that or not. With an annual budget of tens of millions of dollars, elected leadership must understand how these budgets are developed, how the organization is managed, and how funds can best be managed, invested, and spent. This is not an "on-the-job" type of activity. I have worked in developing the Fire & Rescue Services portion of this budget for the last 10 years as Chair of the Fire & Rescue Services Board. I have personally managed budgets greater than the township budget in my work history. Currently, as a consultant to a number of municipalities in Pennsylvania and other states, I see the mistakes and good things being done with budgeting and taxation and can bring that experience to Upper Merion Township. In addition I promise to keep taxes reasonable. We have multiple revenue streams today with more opportunities in the future, that do not impact persoanl wealth or income of our citizens. THIS IS NO AREA FOR AMATEURS, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT OF MULTI-MILLION DOLLARS BUDGETS SHOULD BE A PRE-REQUISITE FOR CANDIDATES.
