Kathleen Hunsicker
Incumbent Candidate, Board of Supervisors With seven years of experience on the Parks and Recreation Board and the Countrie Picnic Committee, Kathy was called to join the Board of Supervisors in June 2008. She now seeks re-election for the remaining two year term. Along with five other Park and Recreation Board members, Kathy was responsible for oversight and policy decisions regarding the appearance and maintenance of the Township's parks and trails, recreation programming and budgeting. During her tenure, the Park and Recreation Department experienced tremendous growth as recreation programming increased by 45 percent with a proportional increase in staff. The township currently boasts 15 miles of walking trails, 51 acres of useable parkland and 10 athletic fields. Kathy was involved in the development of Oxford Park, Pen Ambler Park, and most recently, the release of the Park & Trail Map. During her time as a committee member, the Countrie Picnic has experienced increased attendance and enjoyable attractions and was awarded the Excellence in Programming Award for a Community Event. Through her years on the Parks Board, and currently as Supervisor, Kathy has established positive relationships with staff, volunteers and residents and has gained valuable experience in municipal government. As a Supervisor, she will remain committed to a conservative fiscal spending policy, continue to actively expand the township's park and trail system and promote the Board's accountability and accessibility to taxpayers. Kathy has shown her commitment to the township and her desire to maintain the well-being of the community.
