A Catch-22
In order to cover the 2009 Budget, which was unanimously passed by Council, taxes had to be raised. It pained me to see this happen and my vote was followed by a commitment to do everything and anything to DECREASE the taxes the following year(2010. I empathize with the lower income and many fixed income residents, including our seniors, and who do not have the means to pay higher taxes. I will work on tax reform to see that the tax rate is decreased.
